History
On July 14, 1942, the Ejido Sierra de Juárez was founded; it has been an important setting for livestock and logging activities.
Today it stands out for its beauty and biodiversity.
Every year the founding of the ejido is celebrated with a traditional party where you will enjoy regional music and activities.
The Constitución de 1857 National Park, next to the Sierra de Juárez, is a refuge for various species of endemic flora and fauna.
Within the park is the popular Laguna Hanson, named after the legend of the Norwegian Jacob Hanson, supposed owner of the area in the late 1800s.
Rancho La Lagunita, belonging to the Thing family since the founding of the ejido, it still preserves the main cabin and other elements such as the original corral where livestock actions were carried out.
Sheep raising was also a very popular activity and flocks of hundreds of sheep were moved.
After several generations dedicated to livestock, La Lagunita reinvents itself to become a community of rest, focused on country life, connection with nature and love for the environment.
The center of the ranch maintains the traditional farm and sawmill activities.
